Biography

The Soviet concentration camp prisoner Vladislav Dzyad (Mauthausen prisoner number 36127) was registered ‘dead’ on 18 February 1944. His name appears in the book of the dead at the Klagenfurt-Annabichl cemetery.

Several contemporary witnesses saw how the body of a man shot ‘on the run’ was brought back to the barracks. Whether this was Valdislav Dzyad or the forced labourer Julius Zirovka, who is listed in the death register kept by the cemetery administration on 15 April 1945,[1] is unclear.
