Biography

Artúr was my grandfather's brother. He was born on 11 December 1898 in Alsószernye (now: Dolné Srnie, Slovakia). His father was József Rothbart and his mother was Fáni Büchler. Artúr lived in Újpest, Hungary and was a textile merchant. To his first wife Beck Izabella a daughter was born in 1933, Hédi (like me). Izabella died in late 1933. Artúr's second wife was Maria Urbanek, their son, Peter, was born in 1941. Artúr, Maria and the two young children are victims of SHOA.
