Biography
Paul Bruske was a father of three children living in Berlin, Germany. He was married to Kasimiera Bruske, who Paul met and married in Poland before returning to Germany. He was a tool and die maker by trade and worked at Borsig in the Tegel area of Berlin. There he became active in the resistance group “Mannhart”. Within that group, the individual activists listened to the BBC and printed flyers that they distributed to their coworkers, that criticized the Nazi regime and called upon Berliners to rise up against the regime. He was arrested and told to join the Nazi party to avoid deportation to a concentration camp, he refused and was deported in September 1944, first to Dachau then arriving at Mauthausen on 2 February 1945. He died ten days later.
