Biography

He was my grandfather. He died two weeks before liberation. He did not pass the selection at Ebensee and was sent back to Mauthausen to be murdered. He died on the train never reaching Mauthausen.

His son, my father, was with him in each camp. Even when my dad was in his late 70’s he cried how the Germans took him 2-3 weeks before liberation. He knew his dad was going to die because they wrote down his number. I’d like to think had there been an Israel, had the world cared this never would have happened.
