Biography

Born in Caldes de Montbui on 9 May 1912, the son of Pau Malla Padrós and Dolors Carrera Vilanova, he was single and working as construction worker. He used to live in 9 Doctor Robert Square in Caldes de Montbui and he had two siblings: Jaume and Josepa. Once the War was ended, he fled to France where he was member of worker companies that fought against the Germans when the offensive had already been started in spring 1940. Caught by the occupants, he was interned at Belfort 140 Frontstalag, and later the XI-B Fallingbostel Stalag. From there, he was deported to Mauthausen on 27 January 1940, in the same convoy whith Josep Maria Catafau and Joan Deu. He was transferred to Gusen on 20 October as prisoner number 14.636, and he died on 15 January 1942 at the age of 29. According to registration of deaths in Mauthausen/Gusen, he passed away at 6:10 AM in this camp.
