Biography

Jan Fabiański was born in Warsaw on 24 November 1911 (birth certificate no. 505 from St. Cross parish church in Warsaw) to Adam Fabiański and Marianna Fabiańska born Jamiołkowska. He was born in the house of his parents at Jerozolimskie Avenue no. 6413. Jan Fabiański studied mechanical engineering at Wawelberg technical school in Warsaw. He worked as a teacher in mechanical school in 1940–1944. He was married to Karolina Fabiańska born Warchulska with whom he had two sons and a daughter. He was arrested by Nazi Germans in Izabelin, north of Warsaw, on 1 August 1944 – the day of the outbreak of the Warsaw Uprising – and taken to the temporary concentration camp Dulag 121 in Pruszków near Warsaw. From there he was taken to Mauthausen/Gusen camp where he worked in a quarry. He died on 20 December 1944.
