Радомир Милојевић / Radomir Milojević 1927 - 1945
Born 14.2.1927 in Cerje
Died 8.3.1945 in Gusen
Biography
Radomir Milojević was my grandfather's brother. He was born in 1927 in Cerje (Serbia). He was the oldest brother. My grandfather Dragomir was born in 1929, and they also had a younger sister Vukosava (Kone). When the war started, Nazis came to Cerje and took all the adult men as hostages. Radomir was only 14 years old when they came. My grandfather told me that he was quite tall, which is why they thought he is older. He was then transported to Germany, forced to work in Mauthausen and eventually died in 1945, few months before the war ended. My grandfather got a confirmation about his death in 1996. See the document as image: It's in Serbian and says that he died of heart disease and pneumonia in Gusen. I heard he worked in a Mercedes factory there[1]. I have no photo of Radomir or any other details. I just know that his mom got mentally ill after they took her boy. She never recovered and died young. My grandfather Dragomir lived until 2021. He told me about Radomir, how much he loved his brother, etc.
Polina Milojević, great-niece
[1] Commentary by the editors of MM: Maybe the memory of forced labor for the firm Steyer-Daimler-Puch, which was involved in the arms industry during national socialism and later in the automobile industry, was over the time mistakingly associated with the automobile producer Mercedes.
