Biography

Born on 12 May 1921, he was the youngest man deported to a Nazi camp from Caldes de Montbui. He was the son of Ricardo López López and Pilar López López. Originally from Beleigán (Lugo province), he used to live in 15 Avel·lí Xalabarder Street in Caldes de Montbui. He fled to France where he was imprisoned in 1940 or 1941. He was interned the Krems-Gneixendorf (Austria) XVII-B Stalag. On 19 December 1941 he was transferred as prisoner number 4.738 to Mauthausen, where he finally died on 11 September 1942 at the age of 21. According to registration of deaths in Mauthausen/Gusen, López had been registered as farmer, although he was member of Security and Assault Group during the Spanish Civil War, known as “Assault Guard”. He died at 4:15 PM in Mauthausen.
