Biography

Ermanno was “arrested” and documented as “Schutzhäftling” (protective custody) for being anti-Nazi. He was held captive at Ebensee and at Mauthausen concentration camp before arriving at his final destination: Hartheim Castle – one of six Nazi euthanasia killing centers, where almost 30,000 people were murdered.

He passed away on October 10, 1944.

He left behind his wife Giovanna and three children; Vanda, Bianca, and Renzo.
