Biography

Henryk Kłosowicz was the son of Feliks and Justyna (née Gąsiorek) who lived in Rychwałd. In 1935 he completed his education at the state grammar school M. Kopernikus in Żywiec. Between 1935 and 1938 he studied at the business college in Kraków. In the academic year 1938/39 he taught at the business college in Kozienice. He was also a reserve officer in the 4th Rifle Regiment in Cieszyń. At the start of the Nazi occupation he was living in Rychwałd, where he worked as a postman. On 25 April 1940 he was arrested and transported in a mass transport from Żywiec to the Dachau concentration camp, from where he was deported to the Mauthausen/Gusen concentration camp six weeks later. After several months of work in the stone quarries he was murdered in winter 1941 by means of poison gas.
