Biography

Stanisław Mikołajczyk was born on 22 March 1908 in Plewnia near Kalisz city, Greater Poland. He was a son of Józef Mikołajczyk, a baker in Plewnia, and mother Teresa Jezierska. Stanisław lived in the Kamień village (house number 78) where he also worked in Kamień mansion. He was married with Walentyna and had one son – Gerard Stanisław Mikołajczyk, born in 1937.

In September 1939 during German attack on Poland, Stanisław stayed in the Kamień mansion, where he was arrested by the Gestapo. He was imprisoned in Kalisz transit-camp (Hala targowa braci Szrajer przy ulicy 3 Maja).

In April 1940 he was transported by train from main station of Kalisz to German concentration camp in Dachau on a „Schutz“ order. He became number 6065. After one month, Stanisław was transferred to Mauthausen concentration camp.

He arrived at Mauthausen on 5 June 1940, where he was assigned to Gusen commando with number 4185. Stanisław Mikołajczyk died in Gusen concentration camp on 16 March 1941 at 08:30 a.m.
