Biography

Born in Barcelona on 29 April 1894, the son of Pasqual Gimeno and Isabel Cervera, he lived in 23 Sant Domènec in Caldes de Montbui and he had four siblings: Isabel, Carme, Maria and Josep. He was married to Montserrat Cortés Mestres, with who had three sons: Montserrat, Carles and Josep. Pascual was a republican combatant. He crossed the border to France where he was imprisoned by Germans in 1940. Gimeno was interned at Sagan VIII-C Stalag as his fellow Folch, and later on he was interned at Trier XII-D Stalag. From Trier, he was deported to Mauthausen on 25 January 1941, and then transferred to Gusen on 12 February as the prisoner number 9.919. He died there on 2 November 1941 at the age of 51. According to registration of deaths in Mauthausen/Gusen, he passed away at 8:00 AM on 6 November 1941, listed as stonecutter.
