Biography

Born on 06/02/1909 in Fernán Núñez (Córdoba, Spain). He married Juana Garrido Aguilar on 30/11/1935. He was a farmer.

He fled to France, where in April 1940 he applied for asylum as a refugee in Juzanvugny (Aube). He was assigned to the 63rd Company of Foreign Workers CTE.

Captured in Frontstalag 192, Laon (Aisne), from where he left on 21/10/1940 for Stalag VI-A Hemer. Later transferred to Stalag XII-D Trier, registration number 8732.

The convoy to the concentration camp left on 31 March 1941. In it were 358 Spanish Republicans, 22 of whom were from Cordoba; 189 of them died, including Alfonso and 13 other fellow countrymen from the province.

He arrived at Mauthausen on 03/04/1941, where he was assigned number 4163. He was transferred to Gusen on 20/10/1941, registration number 13794. He died there nineteen days later, on 18/11/1941.
