Biography

Born on 26/09/1908 in Torrecampo (Córdoba, Spain). He was a day labourer.

He was enlisted in the Infantry Carabinieri Corps and belonged to the 103rd Mixed Brigade as a non-commissioned officer during the Spanish War. When Eusebio joined the front in Spain, he was already married and had a daughter, Maria Magdalena.

In 1939 he crossed the French border, on his way to exile, and after passing through the internment camp at Saint Cyprien, he enlisted in the 34th company of Spanish workers (Compañía de Trabajadores Extranjeros/Compagnie de travailleurs étrangers, CTE) serving in the French army to try to stop the German invasion. Adolf Hitler's troops captured him on 16/06/1940 in Besançon, 32 km from the Swiss border, and he was transferred to Frontstalag 123 Langres and later to Stalag X-B Sandbostel, where he remained until 28/02/1941, when he was transferred to the Nazi concentration camp of Mauthausen with 254 Republicans, of whom 200 died. The journey lasted 53 hours. Registration number: 3312. It was transferred to the Gusen branchcamp on 02/08/1941, registration number 13376, where it was killed six months later, on 02/02/1942.
