They had two sons - Jacek (1938) and Leszek (1940). In April 1942, for possession of the radio (in German-occupied Poland it was threatened with death penalty or taken to a concentration camp), he was arrested and taken to the Montelupich prison in Krakow. Marked as a political prisoner, he was taken from the prison on Montelupich Street on 13 April 1942 to KZ Auschwitz, designated with the number 29563, and then on 7 July 1942 transported to the Mauthausen subcamp in Gusen. In Gusen he was number 1760. He was murdered on 29 July 1942 - the official cause of death was nephritis. According to the Book of the Dead KZ Mauthausen (Gusen Command) death occurred at 2:10. His wife survived the war and so did her children.
