Biography

Mok Leman was born in Amsterdam on the 23 October 1912.

He had two sisters, Elisheva who was two years older than him and Yehudit who was three years younger than him.

In 1922, when he was ten years old, his mother Leah Mok (nee Van Coeverden) passed away.

His father remarried to Anna Presser and in 1930 after a few years of marriage she too passed away.

Leman was in primary school for seven years and then two years at a craft school in the evenings.

He became an Electrician.

At the age of 24, in 1937, he married Esther (nee Naatje Troostwijk) and they had two children, Elly (born on 11 March 1938) and Freddy (born on 1 February 1942).

He arrived at Mauthausen when his son Freddy was not yet 4 months old.

At the age of 29 on 7 July 1942 Leman was shot dead at the Mauthausen camp.

His father, Aharon Mok was murdered at Sobibor on 4 June 1943.

On 11 June 1943 his wife Esther was murdered in Sobibor together with his two children Elly and Freddy.

His sisters Yehudit and Elisheva were murdered  in Auschwitz on 22 October 1943.

The whole family was murdered in the Holocaust.
