Gregorio Collado Fernández 1918 - 1941 Edit

Valentin and Gregorio Collado Fernández were my grandmother's brothers. My grandmother died three years ago, she was the last of her siblings alive. She always told us about their story and their death in Mauthausen/Gusen. 

We do not know many details, but my mother and her sisters know what my grandmother told them about their uncles. They were part of the republican guard in Spain before the Spanish Civil War started. Due to their progressive political ideas and their support for the republican government, they were forced to abandon Spain. Later in France, we believe they volunteered to fight against fascism in WW2. We know that they ended up in Gusen, and my great grandmother was given a compensation after their death.
