Biography
Vincenc Mašek – his true name Čeněk Mašek – fought in World War I and was taken prisoner by the Russians. Managed to come back by foot through Poland. He was then working as a guard at a justice court. He was sentenced for his anti-regime activities together with other employees. The Czech judge who was also involved, was shot in public in order to warn others. First sent to Terezín, where his main occupation apparently was cutting hair of newcomers. His life ended too soon in Mauthausen. By all means he was one of the toughest members of our family.
Vojtech Jakoubek, great grand son
