Biografia
Geboren in Scandiano in der Provinz Reggio Emilia, Italien – 6. Juni 1896.
Sohn von Anselmo und Benvenuta Prampolini.
Beruf: Zementarbeiter.
Sozialist, infolge einer gewalttätigen Durchsuchung seiner Wohnung in Scandiano durch die Faschisten am 20. September 1922 nach Paris in Frankreich ausgewandert. Nimmt als Mitglied des Exekutivausschusses von Paris der Sozialistischen Partei Italiens aktiv am politischen Leben der in Frankreich im Exil lebenden Sozialisten teil. Im Februar 1936 ist er in Jaulges, Département Yonne, wohnhaft.
Im November 1936 geht er weg, um bei den Internationalen Brigaden in Spanien anzuheuern, wo er in der Hundertschaft „Gastone Sozzi“ und in der Artillerie der internationalen Brigade „Antonio Gramsci“ kämpft.
Im Februar 1939 tritt er nach dem Sieg der Faschisten in Spanien aus und wird in Frankreich in den Lagern von Gurs und Argelès interniert. Er wird den Arbeitskompanien des französischen Heeres zugeteilt und gerät in Dünkirchen während der deutschen Offensive in Gefangenschaft. Er wird als früherer Kämpfer in Spanien erkannt und nach Mauthausen geschickt, wo er am 25. Jänner 1941 ankommt und die Nummer 4939 erhält. Am 17. Februar 1941 wird er nach Gusen verlegt, wo er am 11. August 1941 an einer Lungenentzündung verstirbt.

As a socialist, he expatriates to Paris, France, on 20 September 1922 after having suffered a violent search of his home in Scandiano by the fascists. He actively participates in the political life of the exiled socialists in France, as a member of the Paris Executive Committee of the Italian Socialist Party. In February 1936 he resided in Jaulges, Department of Yonne.
In November 1936 he left to enlist in the ranks of the International Brigades in Spain where he fought in the Centuria "Gastone Sozzi" and in the International Artillery Brigade "Antonio Gramsci".
He escapes in February 1939 after the victory of the fascists in Spain and is interned in France in the camps of Gurs and Argelès. He is drafted into the French Army Labor Companies and captured in Dunkirk during the German offensive. Recognized as a former fighter in Spain, he was sent to Mauthausen where he arrived on 25 January 1941 under number 4939. On 17 February 1941 he was transferred to Gusen where he died on 11 August 1941 of bronchial pneumonia.

Partecipa attivamente alla vita politica dei socialisti esuli in Francia, come membro del Comitato Esecutivo di Parigi del Partito Socialista Italiano. Nel febbraio del 1936 è residente a Jaulges, Dipartimento dell’Yonne.
Nel novembre del 1936 parte per arruolarsi nelle file delle Brigate Internazionali in Spagna dove combatte nella Centuria “Gastone Sozzi” e nell’Artiglieria Internazionale Brigata “Antonio Gramsci”.
Fuoriesce nel febbraio del 1939 dopo la vittoria dei fascisti in Spagna e internato in Francia nei campi di Gurs e Argeles. Viene arruolato nelle Compagnie di lavoro dell’Esercito Francese e catturato a Dunkerque durante l’offensiva tedesca. Riconosciuto come ex combattente in Spagna, è inviato a Mauthausen dove arriva il 25 gennaio 1941 con il numero 4939. Il 17 febbraio 1941 è trasferito a Gusen dove muore il l’11 agosto 1941 per una broncopolmonite.
